Alexis has always been a very hard working and determined woman. The luck of her genetics as well as her natural talent to absorb information has helped to earn her her current position. Alexis was always a very outspoken and educated young woman. Alexis can be very stubborn and prideful. When it comes to an idea that she believes in she sticks to her guns. Often she can come off as cold and emotionless to others but that is far beyond who she really is. She normally puts up a front so she can understand situations before running her mouth but if she feel something is morally wrong, you can bet she will stick to her guns. She isn't one to talk back right away, she knows when to hold her tongue (at least most of the time) but when it comes to the lives of others she isn't scared to speak up.
The truth is that Alexis wears a mask. This mask is what allows her to go about her day but there is a much softer side to her that she locks away out of fear that her emotions could potentially ruin her current streak with success. Alexis does her best to suppress her emotions so that they don't stand in the way. She carries herself with a very business and professional manner. When her own inner thoughts and emotions get too much for her to bear she hits the bottle in the piracy of her home but she never allows these habits to interfere with the work in which she is very dedicated to, at least not until now. Alexis can be seen as very cynical. Though she likes to think she can handle a lot of stress and pressure the recent events have been somewhat testing her.

HISTORY
Alexis grew up in Rockport with her family and two older brothers with happened to be twins. For the most part she spent her childhood outdoors learning various things from her brothers, and every once in a while helping out with the family business running a restaurant.
By the time she was in 6th grade her summers of running around with her older brothers ended. Alexis began to focus more on school, excelling in all subjects of science and math. By the time she was in high school she was one of the top of her class and set on going on to medical school with the grades and test scores she had earned over the years. Meanwhile her brother would go off in different direction. Peter would move to California, and Ben would stay behind to continue the family business and look after his parents.
It wasn't long before she would find herself in New York, New York, attending college and later medical school,eventually studying some psychiatry to boot. The city was a huge difference from the feel of Rockport, but she liked it. It was something new and exciting and she believed that it gave her an opportunity to do something good. When the hospitals got to be too much, she began to study genetics, offering her hand to various universities around the area to conduct research. It was shortly after her graduation that she was recruited to the Kepler Space program, being one of the best and brightest int he field. There she endured long hours of training in order to assist the other crew members with the upcoming space mission.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Alexis is highly trained in the medical field with some experience in psychiatry, though not much. She also has a strong understanding of genetics which was one of the reasons that the Kepler missions were interested in her and her work. She has written several papers on genetic disorders as well as rare medical disorders. Alexis can operate and do minor repairs to medical equipment on the ship. She is fluent with the medical technology in the med lab. During her training she was required to learn how to use a gun and various weapons, though her aim really isn't the greatest. She has common knowledge of space and he laws governing it. Alexis can adapt easily to situations and circumstances and is good at figuring out things even she doesn't fully understand.
