PERSONALITY
Eli aims to be a polite and friendly person. That is of course he deems you worthy of seeing the lighter side of him; otherwise you'll get nothing but rudeness, contempt or indifference from the brit. Though he can appear to be a bit stiff at times or even distant, but he is also the kind of guy you can have a laugh with him or a few drinks down the pub with. Eli is a dedicated worker who takes pride in his work; even if flying the Kepler hasn’t been the high flying adventure he thought it would be. He can be boastful, but more often than not his boasts are playful. He can just get excited about his work, which is helped by his love of science fiction.
Ever since he first looked through his uncle’s telescope he developed a strong interest in astrology and the stars the hobby was based around. Being amongst the stars is something of a dream come true. He can and has spent nights just starring into space as they pass by. He also enjoys charting the stars, channel his attention to detail that his job demands of him into something recreational, however this hobby feeds one of his biggest flaws; his self-isolating nature. Eli is a lonely man, though pride wouldn’t let him open up about it or acknowledge it. Because of issues developed in his childhood, he has trouble connecting to people in a meaningful way, which leads to him pushing them away and hanging out by himself.

HISTORY
Eli lost his parents when he was young. His father was an RAF officer who died when an accident claimed his life during a routine training drill. His mother turned to drink to cope with the loss and died a year after her husband after she crashed her car into a ditch after a night out. Eli wound up in foster care, bouncing from one uncaring family to the next where he was thought of nothing but an easy way for the foster parents to nap some easy benefits from the government. Eli calls his period of his life "the year of hell" and generally views it at that. To him it was worse than loosing his father and watching his mother slowly destroying herself, because it was the first time in his life he felt unloved. Live in the foster system was cold and unforgiving. In his first week someone threatened to cut open his neck if he didn't give him his pudding.
But it was only a year because after a year, his uncle retired from the RAF and took him when he realized the horrid conditions he was in. It was probably for the best. When you were Eli's age, it wasn't likely you'd be finding a home anytime soon. Everything after that is a bit fuzzy for poor Eli. He has the odd memories and a vague idea of what happened afterwards, but otherwise its blurry. He knows he joined the RAF when he became old enough, specialized in the space division and was eventually selected to join the Kepler 6 crew for his outstanding work in space navigation.

- British Accent, but one that isn't overboard posh or the kind of accent that causes the very words turn into chip-butty as they go through the air. Its just nice and well rounded..
